The Strategic Leaders Group's role is to drive the implementation of the Skills Strategy "Securing Critical Capability – Towards a Holistic Skills Strategy".
Developed through extensive consultation with industry, Government, and key external stakeholders, the Strategy shows how skills are currently sourced and developed for the resource industry. The Strategy also outlines where current training provision meets the resource industry's needs, and identifies gaps where new education and training strategies need to be developed.
The Group is comprised of a wide range of resource industry representatives.
The Group is currently focused on providing strategic advice and direction to the achievement of the Srategy’s goals, in addition to exercising influence at a strategic level within the industry, Government, and community sectors.
The Group oversees the changes required to ensure a sustainable workforce for the future, whilst maintaining a culture that invests in workforce development to produce business outcomes.
In addition, the Group will continue to advise the Mining Industry Skills Centre on current workforce planning and development issues as they arise.
